Fire-rated sliding doors are intended for use inside a building. They are not suitable for outdoor use or situations where the interior and exterior are connected. These doors are often used in protected escape routes, but may not be used as a direct escape route. These sliding doors can only be installed in the reveal, i.e. in or directly on the wall opening. For proper and safe installation, it is important that the substrate is suitable. Permitted substrates include aerated concrete, cellular concrete, sand-lime brick, concrete, masonry and steel structures that are fire-resistant coated.

Options, standards and certifications for Fire-rated sliding doors
Certification and standards
Fire-rated sliding doors are CE marked and tested according to several European standards:
- Tested in accordance with EN 1634-1 and EN 1634-3
- classified in accordance with EN 13501‑2
- panels classified in accordance with EN 13501‑1 as fire class B‑s1, d0
- validated cycle test in accordance with C3 (> 50.000 cycli)
- CE marked in accordance with EN 13241 and EN 16034
Application
- only suitable for indoor / indoor situations
- applicable in protected escape routes, not as an escape route
- mounting only possible on the wall / opening
- permissible mounting surfaces include: aerated concrete, sand-lime brick, concrete, masonry, fire-resistant steel construction
